OVERVIEW & OBJECTIVES

OVERVIEW

This program consists of 4 modules which are Basic Life Support training, Motivational & Effective Study Skill talk, Medical Guidance talk and First Aid.

All 4 modules will be included in the program held at each school. This program will be held every Saturday morning or Wednesday evening (depending on suitability) starting from May 2008. On the day, 2 groups will be attending to 2 different schools. However, for the following week, a different 2 groups will be going to other schools. Our target participants will be those students from Form 1 till Form 5 who are currently studying in the Science stream or joining PBSM (Persatuan Bulan Sabit Malaysia) and St. John Ambulance.

BLS Training School Tour has been started when PPIM CUCMS SC did a trip to Perak (Le Tour de Perak) in February 2008 and we were invited to SMK TLDM, Lumut to teach the students about school preparedness program and Basic Life Support. The responses were overwhelmingly good. Due to that, we preceded with this program in a small scale under our compulsory Young Mercy subject starting with SMK Bandar Damai Perdana, Cheras on 26 Mac 2008 and several schools around Selangor which are SMK Wangsa Maju, SMK Setapak Indah and so on.

This program obtained excellent feedback from those schools and at the same time, we had a lot of invitations from other secondary schools around Kuala Lumpur and Selangor including Putrajaya and Cyberjaya. Encouraged by these overwhelming invitations, we advanced to a higher phase in order to make this program a more formal one and well-known to the Malaysian society.
